The Alden, located on Central Park West and 82nd street in New York City, is a Hotel designed by Emory Roth. Now consisting of 340 units, the property was purchased in 1976 by a group of investors, including the Sirius LLC. At the time, the property had gone into foreclosure, allowing the investors to buy the building a favorable price and upgrade the entire building. Former hotel rooms were gut renovated and reconfigured, in order to create true apartments. The building systems were replaced and an underground garages was added. In 1984, ownership decided to convert  the building from rentals to a cooperative. Today, all but 5 apartments have been sold.
